From the highest-level agency executive to the student fresh out of high school or college considering a career in advertising, the 4A's believes it is a priority to foster a growing community of diverse, talented, and committed collection of exceptional individuals throughout the industry.

All MAIP fellows and alumni are able to participate in the 4A's training and development opportunities at a reduced cost!  Current MAIP fellows go through a robust Spring Training program, which includes 4A's industry attended and led webinars, at no cost.  

MAIP alumni working at 4A's member agencies are able to receive a 50% discount on webinars and those working at non-4A's member agencies receive a 25% discount.

Established in 1997, the 4A's Foundation was created to galvanize the industry around improving the level of diversity within advertising and media agencies. For almost 20 years, the Foundation has been providing financial support to multicultural individuals studying advertising, media, and/or the creatives arts, as well as resources to programs and initiatives in NYC that cover the following categories for our industry: Education, Employment, Outreach, Engagement, and Retention. Simultaneously, it engages colleges, universities and recognized portfolio schools, which help identify high potential students willing and able to make a difference in our community.

bill bernbach diversity scholarship**

ANA Multicultural Excellence Scholarship Fund*

Application Deadline: June 3, 2016

Established in 1998 by DDB Worldwide, the Bill Bernbach Diversity Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to to creatively talented, culturally diverse students seeking an education in copywriting, art direction and design at designated colleges and portfolio schools.  

Application available: May 2016

Since 2003, the ANA has provided up to two MAIP fellows with a one time scholarship of $2,500 to continue their education in the advertising field and is distributed at The Face of Talent Leadership Luncheon.

COLLECTIVE BILL CASPARE MEMORIAL FUND DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP


Application Deadline: Friday July 14, 2017 (11:59PM EDT)

The Collective Bill Caspare Memorial Fund Scholarship was established in 2015 by Collective LLC, through the O’Toole Media Awards, to support diversity in the New Media and Data Science disciplines within advertising and media.

This year, a talented, diverse student will be awarded $10,000 based on outstanding talent.

DIGITASLBI MULTICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP*


Application Available: June 2016

The DigitasLBi Multicultural Scholarship award was established in 2014 to assist talented diverse students with college tuition who are seeking future careers in the advertising and marketing field. This scholarship is funded by DigitasLBi and administered by the 4A's Foundation. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one MAIP participant who exhibits financial need and has successfully completed the scholarship application.

helen landsowne resor scholarship

Application Deadline: May 15, 2016

The international Helen Lansdowne Resor (HLR) Scholarship supports and promotes talented female creative advertising students from around the world in honor of the industry’s first female copywriter, Helen Lansdowne Resor. 

Each year, the HLR Scholarship seeks to award five female creative students scholarships up to $10,000. In addition, each recipient will receive a paid summer internship at a J. Walter Thompson office in her respective region, an offer of a J. Walter Thompson mentor and “first look” placement consideration upon graduation.

Operation jumpstart scholarship

Applications Available: Summer 2016

4A’s Foundation, Inc. established Operation Jumpstart IV in 2011 as a five-year program to continue providing financial assistance to aspiring multicultural art directors and copywriters. It is a continuation of Operation Jumpstart I (1997-2000), Operation Jumpstart II (2001-2005) and Operation Jumpstart III (2006-2010).

 

 

 


Additional scholarship resources

 

  • Shatter the Ceiling Grant will award a $1,000 stipend to a woman of color, offsetting the cost of housing, airfare, or other incidental expenses resulting from and unpaid or underpaid internship.

 

*Only open to #MAIP2016 Fellows.
**Eligibility extended to #MAIP2016 Creative Semi-Finalists, Finalists, and Fellows.
